Home School Spoon Carving Class

In this workshop we will carve a wooden spoon from a seasoned timber spoon blank which you can choose on the day from our range of blanks.

We are located in Wamberal on the NSW Central Coast. (full address details are supplied via email)

The workshop is aimed at kids who have an interest in wood carving for 10-15 years of age (this is negotiable and ultimately comes down to you as a parent to make a call on if they are OK to handle sharp tools).

Parents are welcome to attend as paid participants, to hang around under a tree or to go their way and enjoy the day.  If your child requires extra attention please give me a call (0413 154 024) to discuss as I want to be able to give all participants equal time. 

If time allows we can also decorate our spoons using milk paint, stain, carving or fire.

All tools and materials are provided on the day and the tool shop is open if you wish to purchase tools.  We will stop for regular breaks and lunch to minimise fatigue and keep everyone alert.

Your teacher is Chris Pothof (The Wood Tamer) who has almost 10 years carving experience and teaching.  He will be assisted by Donna Hawkins who is also a carver and artist.  Both of us have our full working with children checks.
