Product details

Von Trott hook and sloyd knives are highly sought after for a reason. Made from 01 tool steel with turned blackwood handles, the blade is made to perfection.

Pete has put a lot of thought into the shape of the handle.  It feels really nice in the hand.

The handle is 100mm long by 30mm x 20mm at its widest point.

Top notch form and function

If I could give this knife more than 5 stars, I would. It's an elegant and exceptionally well-made piece, that fits in my hand beautifully, and cuts through wood like it's warm butter.
If you're after a slöyd to last a lifetime, you can't go past this one - it's worth every cent.

An absolute beaut.

This the single most lithe and maneuverable knife I have ever had the pleasure of using while spoon-carving. The blade is 80mm long and 2mm wide at the spine, resulting in a wickedly fine edge and a tip that handles the narrowest of turns. The steel is 01 and the heat treat seems top drawer; the knife is easily sharpened to a 'scary sharp' level and reacts very well to the strop (I use kangaroo leather with veritas honing compound). The handle is beautiful blackwood and is ergonomically excellent; I have carved a fair bit with it now and have not experienced any hotspots and I find it very comfy to choke down on when using the tip for detail work. This is a lovely handmade tool that will work flawlessly for many years.
