Shipping Times
Orders are shipped 2-4 business days after placement and are sent via Australia Post. You will be supplied with a tracking number once shipped so you can keep track of where your parcel is at.
Please allow 5 business days for delivery and 10 business days for Western Australia, Northern Territory and Tasmania.
Orders placed on a Saturday or Sunday will be processed the following Monday or Tuesday.
Australian Shipping Rates
A $14.95 AUD flat rate shipping fee applies on all orders.
If you require your parcel more urgently then you may select Australia Post Express Post shipping for $20.95 AUD which should arrive 1-2 business days after dispatch (location dependant).

RETURNS POLICY
Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.
To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.
Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.
There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted (if applicable)
- Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error
- Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery
Refunds (if applicable)Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.
Late or missing refunds (if applicable)
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.
Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Sale items (if applicable)
Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded.
Exchanges (if applicable)
We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at info@woodtamer.com.au and send your item to: Wood Tamer, PO Box 3346, Wamberal NSW 2260, Australia.
Gifts
If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.
If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and he will find out about your return.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.
If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.

Product details
The 770 Wood Tamer x Farmer's Forge carving axe is the leaner twin of the 860. They are identical twins except when it comes to their overall weight. If you looked at their heads you would swear that they were the same axe however the 770 has been getting to the gym more regularly than their twin so they are slimmer and don't have the same "love handle" (pun intended).
The 770 sports the same incredible perfect balance when balanced on 2 fingers just below the head both vertically and horizontally (see pics). These axes feel so good in the hand and become an extention of your arm.
If you have held the 860 and found the handle too large in your hand you will love the slimmer twin.
Background on the 860 where it all began - It has been a dream of The Wood Tamer to release an Australian Made Carving Axe for a long time. Once we had finalised our design, we searched long and hard and sampled with Axe makers until we found The Farmer's Forge. Mick's attention to detail is incredible. He was able to take our design concepts and tweaks and develop this beautiful model that we are proud to release to the world.

We wanted to be able to showcase the amazing quality of tools made here in Australia to the rest of the world. Given the pandemics effects on global shipping we also wanted to be able to source carving axes locally. Every part of this axe is made here in Australia.
Australian Timber Haft
We wanted to be able to show the rest of the world the amazing hardwood timbers we have available here so we have gone with Spotted Gum for this particular carving axe. It is a beautifully coloured timber that improves with ages and doesn't look grubby from use. It is super tough and with the right care will last a very long time.
Faceted Handle
Whether holding the handle at the base swell for full powered swings or choking up on the head for controlled cuts, the handle sits comfortably in your hand without having to hold on tightly. This reduces fatigue. The swell at the back of the handle fits well into the Vee between your thumb and pointer finger further reducing fatigue
Superbly Balanced
The balance point of the axe is perfectly located up at the choke point, making for for great control cuts and also when holding the axe at the base of the handle you get maximum swing power
HANDFORGED AXE HEAD
Each axe head is hand forged by The Farmer's Forge from 5160 steel which means awesome edge retention. A 30 degree hollow grind bevel makes for excellent carving. This hardwearing axe is designed to last for generations.
