The No6 size of Opinel features the Virobloc® double safety ring and is the smallest option available. Perfect for outdoor activities and sports, this model is also highly functional and efficient for daily manual tasks such as small crafts and sewing. Its compact size makes it a great fit for even the smallest of hands.
European origin. The stainless steel used in Opinel blades is optimized for both high corrosion resistance and mechanical performance, with a hardness of 55-57 HRC. Its excellent sharpness and resistance to wear make it suitable for regular contact with hard materials like ceramics without needing frequent re-sharpening. Additionally, unlike carbon steel, stainless steel requires no special maintenance in normal conditions, although it may show signs of wear in prolonged exposure to aggressive environments like acid or salt water.
The traditional Opinel blade takes on the distinctive Yatagan shape, influenced by the Turkish saber known as the toe up. The blade is expertly crafted with a unique convex profile that maximizes strength and permits effortless regrinding.
Introduced by Marcel Opinel in 1955, the Virobloc safety ring is included on all N° 06 folding knives. Crafted from stainless steel, the Virobloc consists of two parts: one fixed and one sliding. This feature not only secures the blade in an open position (safety during use), but also in a closed position (safety during transportation).
Orders are shipped 2-4 business days after placement and are sent via Australia Post. You will be supplied with a tracking number once shipped so you can keep track of where your parcel is at.
Please allow 5 business days for delivery and 10 business days for Western Australia, Northern Territory and Tasmania.
Orders placed on a Saturday or Sunday will be processed the following Monday or Tuesday.
