In this workshop we will carve a spoon from a branch.

Select a piece of wood then use an axe and saw to shape it into a spoon blank before moving to knives to carve it into a finished spoon.
Allow 6 hours with a break for lunch.
All tools and materials supplied on the day (though we recommend bringing your own tools if you have them).
Classes are held in the Wood Tamer workshop on the Central Coast of NSW.

Chris AKA The Wood Tamer has been hooked on carving since he carved his first spoon in 2016. He loves sharing his love of carving with people of all ages and also has full working with children documentation.

Having a few hours one on one with Chris has really helped improve my carving. My main goal for the session was to gain axe work skills to get more consistent shapes with my spoons. We also went through sharpening and I got to try some tools I had been considering buying (draw knife, spoon mule and hook knife). Chris is a great instructor - knowledgable and happy to go at my pace. I have carved two spoons since my session and my spoons are so much better - more refined and quicker. Just wish I had booked in sooner! Thanks Chris!
